Minister Rene Gonzalez

Joined the staff at Tree of Life, in December 2015, via Austin Texas.  He's happily married to his wife Ginny, whom he met while, both, serving as missionaries in Guatemala. Now they’re proud parents to a sweet baby boy named Lukas, and owners of a tiny furry dog named Chewie.

Rene has been involved in youth ministries for over 20 years. Initially as a volunteer, then led by God to pursue a degree in Youth Ministry. He served his first years as a full time minister at an international church English-speaking congregation overseas; one with a very eclectic youth of North-American, European, Hispanic, Latino and Asian backgrounds.

One of his passions is to see teens come to understand the heart of God. He loves seeing them understand that God loves them very much and has placed an immense potential in each of them.

Aside from his love for Jesus, his wife Ginny, and his passion for discipleship; Rene enjoys sports (mainly volleyball & mountain biking) and just about anything that takes place outside and involves not sitting at a desk. However, he also enjoys a cup coffee and a good conversation with friends, whether at a restaurant, coffee shop or at home.
